It's called "Instant Fence" Instead of burying the wire along the boundaries you just plug in this big "radio transmitter" and their collars receive the signal and says they are OK-- so long as they stay in close enough that they get signal, no beeps/shocks but if they venture a little too far they'll hear a beep and know to head back to "in bounds" It's a little more expensive than "normal" system and collars are pricy but it's good for us since we seem to move too often. We only have to grab the radio and plug it in at the next place to get up and going again. You can also get a special adapter to convert voltage so you can run off of car- so you can basically make an instant fence around your car at the park if you needed to.
